趣 the premise
A calm way to share a car with the people you trust — track every mile, settle every cost, and keep the peace between family and friends.
The idea
Keyodo isn't a payment app and it never holds your money. It's a quiet record-keeper for lending a car between family and friends — 道, the Way: something you tend, not a bill you chase. The name carries the whole intention, read three ways:
The keys you hand over and the odometer you read — the two moving parts, folded into the name.
Unhurried, considered, trustworthy — the right register for money moving gently between friends.
The suffix of jūdō, shodō, kendō — a discipline you keep. Keyodo is the way of sharing well.
The core loop
The everyday rhythm. Everything below is detail hung on this simple frame.
Enter what the car actually costs to own. Keyodo turns it into a single honest per-mile rate — or a simple flat rate, your choice.
Open the car to a group of family or friends. They ask for the keys on a schedule; you approve with a tap.
Snap the odometer at start and end; Keyodo reads the number for you and works out the distance and fair cost. Gas receipts scan the same quiet way.
A living ledger shows who owes whom. Keyodo never touches the money — it keeps the record honest and, when a balance is paid, stamps it settled.
The fleet, broadly
If it rolls, hauls, or floats — and something counts its use — Keyodo can share it. Anything with an odometer or an hourmeter fits the same simple loop.
Cars, RVs, campers, buses — usage is the miles driven, read from the odometer at start and end.
Boats, generators, tractors — usage is engine hours, read from the hourmeter. Same math: usage in, fair share out.
Feature · the rate
Every vehicle is set up as one of two rate types when you add it — priced per mile, or per engine hour for hourmeter assets. Simple by default; precise when you want it.
Pick any amount on one of three bases — the app becomes a clean scheduler and ledger.
Build the rate from what the car truly costs. Keyodo blends three buckets into one honest $/mile.
The rate locks when a trip starts, so a mid-trip change never re-prices a drive already underway.
Feature · capture
The borrower's part takes seconds, standing at the car — and works even with no signal.
Photos are the record — an auditable trail, not a guess. Reading them is automatic.
The owner decides how fuel is treated — per car, or per borrower.
The field moments happen in dead zones. Keyodo captures offline and finalizes when signal returns.
Feature · trust
Enough structure to keep things fair between friends — never so much it feels like surveillance.
Every borrow starts with a request the owner can see and decide on.
Mileage always comes from the odometer photo — never GPS. Location is an optional trust artifact, off by default.
Feature · settle & the small things
Plans
Only the vehicle owner subscribes. Anyone borrowing a car is always free, and gets whatever the owner's plan unlocks on that car.
Pricing is still being decided — this is about what each tier includes, not what it costs.

The path
The foundation lands first; the richer touches follow, each built to slot in without a rebuild.
The whole sharing loop, end to end.
Ordered by how much friction they remove.
Bigger groups, more reach.

On the design
Keyodo borrows the restraint of Japanese design — ma, the value of empty space; a single vermilion accent held in reserve; the ensō, the circle drawn in one breath, standing in for a wheel and an odometer's face. These are taken as inspiration, held lightly and with respect — a way of building calm, honest software, not a theme laid over it. The aim is simply this: to make sharing something you own feel generous again.
