Report an Intimate Image Shared Without Consent
How to report
If you are in danger right now, call 911.
Who can ask
- The person shown in the image.
- Someone authorized to act for them, such as a parent or legal guardian, or a lawyer.
This covers real images and images that were created or altered with AI.
What to include
- Your name and signature. A typed name is fine.
- Where the image is: which Ridgewill app, and anything that helps us find it, such as the group, the person who shared it, or the date.
- A statement that it was shared without the consent of the person shown.
- How to contact you.
If you are acting for someone else, say so, and tell us how you are authorized to act for them.
What we do
- We remove the image, and make reasonable efforts to remove any identical copies we know of, as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after we receive a valid request.
- We give you a reference number and tell you what we did.
- We may suspend or close the account that shared it, as our Terms allow.
Images of anyone under 18
We remove any sexual image of a minor, close the account that shared it, preserve what the law requires, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). You can also report it to NCMEC directly through the CyberTipline.
Our rules
Sharing intimate images of anyone without their consent breaks section 7 of the Ridgewill Terms of Service, which also describes this process.
